Snake Print Legging

Top: Old Navy; Leggings: old Navy; Scarf: Pashmina; Ankle boots: Nine West

First, let me say happy holidays to every one, i know i am a horrible blogger but its so much harder than i thought to update this thing every single  day...i must admit though that i havent been trying hard enough.  Anyways, i really really hope you all had a great xmas and will have a fantastic new year...what do you plan on wearing....i think alot of people are going with sequins this year and i must admit i have a gold sequins dress as well as two skirts (gold and black)..i dont wanto to buy anything else so i might go with something i already have....

About this look: I bought these leggings two christmases ago at old navy, i really like them even though ive worn them like three times since i've purchased them. The top i got from old navy also (when i first came here i shopped at old navy alot..i know..forgive me..lol). So what do you think?

Salmon sweater!

Sweater: Appleseed; Tank: Old Navy; Leggings: Forever 21; Bag: Ferris &Mor; Ankle boots: Nine West

Hey ladies...oh my .can you believe its christmas already?..sigh..i can remember clearly last holidays...my oh time flies...i will be one yr older, wiser and more beautiful in january..yay!!..anyways this outfit was actually a casual look ..it was sort of  a chilly sunday when i wore this outfit. I think i did a bit of  thrifting and regular shopping. Speaking of thrifting..i finally found a sequins jacket ..a black one.....yaayyyyy!! for .what for it..$12.50..i know this is a bit expensive for a thrift store but i really wanted it and actually $12.50 was the half off price because it was initially $24.99...anyways it is still cheaper than in the stores that are like $30 to $40. It fits well enough (surprisingly cause it was the only one) and  i cant wait to wear it ..oh by the way i have some ideas for my new yrs day outfit but i would love to know what you guys are thinking of wearing...sequins..glitter? let me kno ..kisses :-)

My Orange

Blazer: Lord & Taylor; Tank: Old Navy; Leggings: Forever21; Flats: American Eagle

Ok so i know Ive been mia again..so sorry..so much has happened over the last two weeks..some good (yay home ownership)...some bad (uhh car accident) that blogging seems to be the last thing on my mind at the end of the day....again so sorry..i did say i was gonna make an effort right?..yea i suck...anyways i wore this outfit to run some errands a while back. Ofcourse i got the blazer at a thrift store and i love the colour..its supposed to be a Lord and Taylor size 4 petite but it was kinda big and had theseenormous shoulder pads that just would not do.. so ofcourse i took them out.The liquid leggings (which i seem to live in lately) are from forever 21. what do you think?

Did someone say sequins?

Blazer : Zara Basics; Top: Juliet'scloset (ross); Pants: Crest Jeans; Bag: Sasha and Heel: Delicious

So im making an effort to post more regularly..atleast every other day..i did my surgery yesterday so im still recuperating...let me say this though a "minor" surgery might be minor in terms of the actual operation the recuperation can be horrible especially if it has anything to do with the eye, throat or nose...those can be extremely uncomfortable.

About the look: This look was inspired by lookbook. Even though i don't post pictures there i visit it as well as chictopia quite often for inspiration. The inspiration for this look actually came from an ad  on the site rather than one of the postings. I was more than willing to recreate  it because one, i have all the pieces and two, sequins are all the rage right now...and i love em. I want a sequins blazer so bad ..ive been trolling the thrift stores lately trying to find one but havent been lucky so far..im thinking of just buying one new but then i know the minute i do is the minute i will stumble upon one while thrifting. Anyways...do you know of any stores with reasonably priced (say $50)  sequins jacket (black or silver)right now? let me know....

P.S. tomorrow is thanksgiving...though i grew up in a country that doesnot celebrate such a day, i know that it means alot to some people...so happy thanksgiving to you and yours...
kisses :-)

She wore a red dress!

Ok so there is a pretty funny (not haha funny)  story to this dress. I bought this dress from forever 21 some time ago...i think it was apart of the yellow tag deal and i got it for like 10 or thereabouts....anyway ive had it for a while just sitting there  till several sundays ago i finally got around to wearing it...only to spill on it ( i dont even remember what exactly)  and then put it in the machine even though the tag clearly says .."handwash"..and now its all messed up... it shrunk..but not after putting it in the dryer ....nope i didnt have to go that far (and believe me i was gonna) it shrunk coming out of the washer..can you beleive that? ..my husband kept saying it would go back to normal when it dried but sadly it didnt :-( im not giving up though im thinking of wearing it as a maxi skirt..what do you think ? and yes i know it wasnt exactly the cleverest thing to throw it in the machine but what can i say.. sometimes i just cannot be bothered

The Green Monster

Top: Anna and Frank (Vintage); Skirt: Marshalls; Bag: Jennifer Moore; Shoes : Delicious

Hey ladies, HAPPY FRIDAY!! im so sorry ive been mia for like the two weeks, ive been busy and also a little sick..i even have surgery coming up soon..nothing major though..out patient thank God..because he ALONE knows how much i truly truly hate hospitals, needles blood and the works...anyways this outfit i wore sometime ago when i was apartment hunting...i didnt wear the heels though..haha..the top was thrifted..i kno alot people dont like second hand clothing but i dont mind because its cheap, and i tend to stay away from torn, stained and really smelly items. I love thrifting tops though because thrift stores have a wide variety of colours and very nice, well made, great material (silk even) tops that are so comfortable to wear during the day....the skirt is from marshalls and the shoes from ross..what do you think of this look..
p.s today is veterans days! so my husband (who is military) and i will probably go out tonight and get in on some of the freebies.im not sure though...pass by chicisimo to see my look ...

Rocker Blues!

Jacket: Forever 21; Tank: Zoo York; Pants: Yeans Please; Heels: Delicious

Can you believe i did not like this jacket when i first got it..i purchased it online and when it came it was really big (remember i was waay skinnier than this)  and i never liked the style..however the other day i took it out to wear it and i couldnt believe how stupid i was ..its a great jacket ..i paired it up with this light blue jeans that i love and this lip tank that i thrifted for like a dollar...btw i dont like thrifting tanks, t-shirts and those types of tops ..i find that its better to buy them new because they get stained easily..this one was however in great condition and pretty cheap..what do you think of this look?

Hey ladies!!, ok so ive been trying to come up with ways in which i can promote my blog..i appreciate every single person who has become a member so far and have tried to show that appreciation by joining your blogs also. I  would,  however, love love love more members. This is a pretty recent blog (started in September) so i figured it would not blow up over night especially since i have no give aways etc etc to attract new members..(i would love to give away stuff  but im just waiting for the member list to increase to atleast 50...lol).  I would really appreciate your suggestions/recommendations  on how to go about making my blog a bit more popular...more noticable..what were some of the things you did to get your blogs off the ground?? or is it simply a waiting game?..i would really appreciate your advice....

About the look:  this is one of my more casual outfits..i wore this to go get some extensions put in my hair.  This photo was taken the day i got them done  and im still wearing them now..i love this top,  i think i got it at Marshalls ..its very cute,  ofcourse pretty cheap (12.99) and very wearable especially here in SoFlo...

About the Look:  I love this top so much..i bought it at ...you guessed it.. a thrift store, it's a  truly vintage  find and in very good condition.  I really  really love the colour, the fabric (if im not mistaken i think its silk)  and the fact that it has one of my favourites prints (the polka dot). Everything else is pretty much generic..what  do you think of this look??

Fall for Colour

Top: Jordan; Belt : New York & Co.; Dress (as skirt): Forever 21; Clutch Thrifted

Hey everyone! hope your having a great weekend! ..I titled this look  "fall for colour" because i love the idea of continuing colour into the fall season...previously ladies would dump their bright coloured clothing around this time of year and gravitate to the so-called tranditional dark fall colours..grays, blacks, browns and tans.   This fall, however it is clear that colour intends to stick around and im loving it!!!

About this look: This "skirt" is actually a dress,  a maxi dress from forever 21. I wore it as a skirt because i really love the colour and also im always having trouble finding skirts that are really long on me (and im 5'4'...pretty average) . I  like my maxi skirts really long and the dress did exactly that for me ..also i like the idea of having a multi-purpose item, something i can get creative with, people do it all the time with skirts, that is, wear them as dresses i just  wanted to wear my dress as a skirt. The top, a very nice mustard yellow was thrifted as well as the clutch..what do you think of this look.?

Orange, Black and Gold

Top: Huntington Ridge; Skirt: Forever21; Bag: Euraline Paris; Heels: Gianni Bini

The day i wore this outfit, i had like a million appointments...i wanted to wear something that was conducive to the weather but still preofessional like...i used to buy clothes for work and different clothes for party  until i realized that anything can be worn anywhere it just depends on how you wear it. Now my closet just has clothes...anywhere clothes....i wear my long sleeved shirts sometimes with shorts and another time with black pants, depending on the look im going for.

About the look: I purchased this top at a thrift store ($2 or $2.50..it was half off), the skirt is old and from forever 2 and the shoes are from gianni bini..they are chunky heeled, sorta high and very very comfortable .what do you think ...how do you use the things in your closet to go from professional to casual..to partaayyy

Fall for Colour...Fall Fashion 2011

Ok so summer has officially ended.. for those of you who were not aware (like i was) summer ended september 21..crazy because it still feels and looks alot like summer in florida and where i am from orginally...jamaica..where im still from..lol...its always summer... the season doesn't ever seem to change there and im not hating it because i really don't like being cold. However, im a big fan of  fall and winter fashion ..the layering with the  jackets, the coats, the leggings etc etc......i just love it all. Usually they'll tell you that you cant have your cake and eat  it too, i think in my case (living in South florida) you kinda can....the winter here doesnt get that cold..no snow..no bitter blizzards just nice cool to moderately cold days ..lol....where you can  rock fall and winter fashion and still be quite comfortable.....with that said lets look at some of what i consider the most interesting trends in fashion this fall

Peplum Blazers Coats and Vests

Peter Som and Thakoon, Fall- Winter 2011 (Glamour.com)

As expected,  this fall will see the return (well i wouldnt even say return ..because these are staples of the fall and winter seasons every year) of some of my personal favourites and im sure yours too....blazers (especially blazers), coats and vests however what seems to be trending is the peplum version of all these. Some of falls prettiest jackets, and blazers come with whittled-in-at-the-waist silhouettes—which means you can flaunt your ladylike silhouette even if you’re wearing lots of layers (glamour.com)

Polka Dots

Marc Jacobs and Diane von Furstenburg, Fall-Winter 2011

Ive always been a huge fan of polka dots...every season...polka dots- particularly black and white- have always been a staple in my closet. Lately however with the onset of these vibrant colour trends for summer and even fall (yes fall!!) i have been experimenting with different colours and different types of clothing with the pattern.... I think polka dot trend is a completely safe  trend to try even for those of us who are less experimental...trying a polka-dot blouse or scarf can put a playful—and trendy!—spin on  an everyday outfit and just give you that extra something your looking for...

Maxi Skirts and Cozy Sweaters

So youre looking for something comfortable and a bit low key? rather than resorting to jeans and a sweater...this season calls for the maxi skirt and the sweater....now personally im not completely sold on this trend and i guess this is because  mostly everyone in this photo and similar others look like bag ladies (no offence) ..lol.. and also   because i tend to go fitted and loose..not loose and loose..and i dont know why.. but in my head a comfy sweater is a loose sweater..i realized though that that isnt necessarily true so if i can find a sweater (already in my closet) thats a bit more fitted and  comfy of course i will be more than willing to try this trend...after all its always good to challenge yourself beyond the great blue jeans...

The Slit Skirt or slit-up- to- there skirt

Christian Siriano, Jenni Kayne and Diane von Furstenberg, Fall-Winter 2011

So falls newest party peice is the slit-up to- there skirt...interesting....its for those of us that still want to be covered up while dressed  up. I really don't know how i feel about rocking this trend ....its seems a bit risque to me ..i dont know but to have a slit right at the front going all the way up there..ummm im not sure...lol...maybe im a bit prudish? .....anyhoo in the name of being adventurous and experimental i think i might try this trend (dont hold me to it though).  If you're like me and do not already have this skirt in your closet, you're not willing to slit one of your skirts or you don't want to spend on what may ultimately become a once worn item then your local thrift store is your best bet. Its a cheap and easy way to add something to your closet that you are not quite sold on but still willing to try ...

Wrapped in Lace

The lace trend is really nothing new...its been a trend for the last couple seasons as far back as 07 (please correct me if im wrong)  ...and its a wonderful trend .. i just love lace..lace dresses (i have 4 that i have not worn yet), lace tops, lace skirts and lace shorts (i need to get one asap).... For this fall though, the lace trend is getting a bit more dressed up...a little bit more classy ...so nice lace dresses will be perfect for that weekend party, show or semi-formal event and  even for a day at the office. The fact is ..if you're a fashionista you will find that you are overdressed for alot of things..but dont worry you're not alone...

Bright Pants

Now i can tell you that this trend is a personal favourite...i have been wearing bright pants since forever even before they were  "fashionable" ..so now im completely on it....its a great way to vamp up fall outfits which tend to be centered around grays, browns, black, and other sometimes dreary colours...I need to get some coloured trousers though..with exception of a bright pink all i have are coloured jeans..

Granny Plaids

Tory Burch, Adam and DKNY, Fall-Winter 2011

Ok so by now we all know tha designers tend to over do it when they put a pattern on the runway...like full on plaid outfits...well im sorry but im not that adventerous...i picked this trend however because i have a plaid blazer that i have been dying to wear  but it just never seemed to be the right time ... it seems though that this season  will be absolutely perfect to wear it...

The Working Girl Dress

Luca Luca, Adam and Jill Stuart, Fall-Winter 2011

Ok so i love this trend. First, because i love dresses and second, because i love vintage dresses (even though i own like ..umm...one) and these dresses are so 70's  inspired. These dresses are super elegant and can be worn to work, out to eat, to a party or even worn casually with flats...i cant wait to get my hands on one

so there it is....the nine fall fashion trends i find particularly interesting .which ones do you plan to rock this fall..? let me know..

Mellow Yellow.......

Tank: Forever21; Harem Pants: Forever21; Bag: Relic; Hat: Forever21; Flats: Bamboo

Ok so i know this is a fashion blog but i just have to share something...so i was watching dirty dancing again ..and i should say that along with forest gump this is my favourite movie of all time....i absolutely loooove the final dance..i love the song (time of my life- i got married to that song...always said i would and i did :-) )...i love patrick swayze..i miss patrick swayze. i cried when he died..i cried when jennifer grey (his co-star in the movie) talked about him  and i got all teary again today ...i just love that movie oh so much

About the look: Theres just something about this pic..i like it so much ..i really wasnt posing it was just what i thought was a break between pics when i held my head down and he (my hubby) snapped me .....anyways the  outfit is pretty much forever 21 with the exception of the flats (my sister's that i took), the hat and the bag

Baila en la calle

Top: Silk Land; Belt: Forever 21; Skirt: Forever21; Clutch: Liz Claiborne; Heel: Nine West

As you might have noticed, i have an affinity for bright colours...growing up ive always heard my family and friends say that certain colours should only be worn based on your complexion but since ive gotten older i really dont care..i hated orange all the way up to college and frankly i dont understand why..i guess it was just one of those colours that i never cared to wear..Well clearly orange has been reinvented and is or should i say was this summers "it" colour..everything was orange and mostly everyone looked good in it...anyways

About this look: The top  was another thriftstore find ..100% percent silk, the skirt is from forever21...a little tid bit on this skirt....ok so its a xs and i am a small (before when i was 14 pound lighter i was xs) anyways the skirt is huge hence the belt..the extra small skirt is big on me can you believe that? and its this skirt i know because i usually dont have a problem with forever 21 sizing..im wondering if maybe it was tagged incorrectly ...what do you think of this look

Miss Universe 2011

How gorgeous is she?! Miss Angola Leila Lopes beat out 88 other contestants during Monday night's Miss Universe 2011 pageant to grab the ultimate crown. I say congrats to Ms. Lopes ..she represents women of colour well..so happy for her...
